Bringing NFTs to Life in the Metaverse

What would the ideal metaverse look like? After all, it’s soon where we’re going to spend an increasing amount of our time. But before we hand over the keys to value-extracting platforms like Facebook and others that have the resources to build it, let’s look at what the ideal metaverse should look like.

Web 3 allows digital property ownership on the internet with NFTs. It also enables humans to coordinate at scale with DAOs (decentralized autonomous organisations). And it lets people capture the value created through incentives like play-to-earn and create-to-earn. These are human traits of ownership, collaboration, creation and accumulation. We need these human qualities embedded in NFTs to populate the ideal metaverse.

Some of the decentralized games that have already come out do contain core blockchain values like security, censorship resistance, permissionless access and decentralization. However, user experience and a fair monetization model, on top of governance and transaction management, are also critical to establish a vibrant creator economy.

The ideal metaverse would be an open economy that upholds transparency and delivers a flawless and immersive user experience, while offering fair compensation to participants for the value they bring to the platform. The optimal balance between high-quality games and player adoption could lead to the network effect needed to turn such a metaverse into a self-reinforcing virtuous economy.

Bullieverse is just such an open metaverse developed for players and creators. It’s been built for the Web 3 citizen to immerse themselves in an out-of-this-world experience combined with a transparent and fair monetization mechanism. Powered by an easy-to-build, no-code platform, Bullieverse allows community members to create and publish games, with the result being a high-quality gaming platform where users come to play, earn and experience. As the “Star Trek” saying goes: “It’s life Jim, but not as we know it.”

Ecosystem development

At heart, Bullieverse is a gaming ecosystem that compensates its community for their time and loyalty. It will evolve into a community-owned metaverse in line with the spirit of DAOs as players and game creators start earning Bull tokens. Users can own NFTs and use them to play games. Asset owners can rent and lease their assets to others in the community. It can also host events and experiences that the community can enjoy and cherish. In due course, it will also be able to interoperate with other metaverse economies.

The first game, The Bear Hunt, had a premier launch to more than 20 Bull NFT holders in February and over 10 more Bull NFT holders in March. This is the first play-and-earn game that will bring the community together. Bulliever Island will be an ever-expanding world with an arcade of games. A game player can become a Citizen of Bulliver Island (COBI) by buying Bull NFTs. To enable that, Bullieverse has two tokens: the Bull token for the DAO governance and the Shell token as in-game rewards.

The Bullieverse vision will be achieved by executing foundational framework elements that will underpin the ideal, decentralized metaverse, built around a community of game players, creators and asset owners. The secure, scalable and rich gaming platform is built on the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains using Unreal Engine and offers a suite of engrossing, handcrafted games. Bullieverse runs on an easy-to-use, no-code creator engine for game creators, and has an incentive mechanism that rewards players and creators of games. To top it all, it’s a DAO that ensures governance and helps the platform to scale and become a virtuous self-reinforcing gaming environment. These foundational elements allow the technological potential of the metaverse to come to life.
